Our Story

The Georgia Education Foundation is a non-profit established in 2012 to provide educational opportunities to small business owners and entrepreneurs across the state of Georgia. The Foundation makes grants, provides scholarships to small business owners and supports a full portfolio of coaching, mentoring and key learning initiatives. The GEF is the educational arm of the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council (GMSDC), the state of Georgia’s leadings advocacy organization for supplier diversity and minority business development.

The Georgia Education Foundation is focused on targeted learning opportunities that will help small business owners develop capacity and acquire the business acumen necessary to build sustainable and profitable enterprises. Key focus areas for the Foundation include leadership, capacity, infrastructure, technology, capital, acumen and community. Funded by donations and foundation grants, the GEF offers training in a wide variety of areas necessary to build thriving enterprises, such as:

  • Leadership and company culture
  • Technology and systems
  • Innovation and creativity
  • Employee development and morale
  • Operational efficiency
  • Certification preparation and documentation
  • Access to capital and fiscal excellence
