The Minority Business Internship Program (MBIP) offers paid internships to minority college students in the state of Georgia. The GEF has partnered with the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the Atlanta area and Georgia’s business community to match up high-potential college students with career development opportunities at Certified Minority Business Enterprise Firms. Students are assigned to an MBE firm that is aligned with the student’s major area of study. The business owner commits to be a mentor and lead the student’s professional skills development, to provide exposure to entrepreneurship as well as the corporate clients with whom they do business. Corporate sponsors share in the cost of student salaries, so that the MBIP internships can pay very competitively.
